"DiTrapano [Moss' agent] said he didn't know the terms of the deal, but the Pioneer Press reported the Vikings would get linebacker Napoleon Harris, along with the seventh overall pick and a late-round pick in the upcoming draft.
The deal cannot become official until March 2, the start of the NFL's fiscal year."

Memo to self. Draft Kerry Collins early in next years redmen.com fantasy football draft.

ESPN is saying the same as you reported Mike. The late round pick is a 7th rounder by the way.

Somehow seems appropriate for Randy to be a Raider.
Raiders will now let Jerry Porter go.
Wonder why Minny didn't try to get Porter back in the deal - I guess it's just too hard to work a "sign and trade" sort of deal in the NFL.

They just signed Porter to an extenstion last week. You really think they would go right back and get rid of him? They have a good solid trio is Moss, Porter and Curry.

I agree with Moose on this one. They have just given Kerry Collins a lot of toys to play with next year.
Between Curry, Porter and Moss, I echo MJ. Draft Collins in next year's fantasy leagues.
Now, if the Raiders could just find a way to recruit Ricky Wiliams, that would be the final piece to a collection of eclectic personalities.

They didn't give much for him. The Jets should've gotten Randy Moss. If he behaves, he could be the missing piece to a championship. If he self-distructs, we can use him as the scapegoat of the year.

If he behaves is like asking Michle jackson to watch you kids, Do you want to trust everything is ok? Mega talent, mega problems in the locker room. Maybe we get lucky and the redskins waive Laverneous coles.

I missed the Porter re-signing. Thought he was still an RFA.

Yeah Porter signed last week. Curry is going to be really good but he is coming off major knee surgery so who knows how he will be next year.
BTW I heard on the fan today a rumor that Mason very well could be coming to the jets.

That would make sense. Since the Hiemerdinger (I can't spell his name) is the offensive coodinator.
And that leaves the Giants.
I am hoping that somehow they can clear enough cap space in order to sign:
1. Jonas Jennings
1A. Burress or Coles

Jennings is a LT. The Giants had better protect Eli's blind side, and get him a big time target. Those signings would accomplish both.

I want Jennings too AR
But I would rather stay away from Burress and Coles to a lesser extent. TJ Housmanzadeh is a darn good reciever and comes cheaper. I would rather take two cheaper receivers instead of breaking the bank for Burress or Coles.
Mason however is a different story.

Moose, good call on TJ. I forgot about him. Even though I should not have, considering the game he had against the Giants.
My only problem with Mason is that he is 31. I would rather have a younger WR, that can grow with Manning. Having said that, Mason would be a great fit -- on any team.
And if the Giants go the more inexpensive route at WR, they could use some of the money for secondary help. Like Fred Smoot for example. :D
Will Allen looks to be a goner.

I wouldnt lose sleep over Allen or Peterson. Too bad Accorsi gave Will Pete is fat contract last yr. The CB pool is fairly deep. A lot can be had by trades.

I like Peterson, but Allen drives me nuts. The guy must have dropped more INT's than any other corner in the league. He has awful hands.
Trust me, I won't lose sleep over seeing Allen go.

Relax. Players go for the money. And before Belichick became the best coach in the game, he was a rigid, bland, losing head coach, with no charisma.
Do you remember the looseleaf paper, in which he scrawled in ink, I resign as HC of the NYJ, as his letter of resignation? Yeah, I am sooooo certain you were just thrilled to have that guy become your HC of the NEP.
Oh, by the way, ask Ty Law what he really thinks of Belichick. I am sure he has such warm and fuzzy feelings towards him. :?

Ouch.
Actually, I was happy to have Belichick. I wasn't worried about him walking out on the Jets - that was a sign of intelligence. And I knew that he was a defensive genius, thought his Clevleland record had been overkilled, and I also accept that people can actually grow, change, and learn over time.
Plus, Belichick never had a reputation as a guy players wouldn't want to play for. He had a reputation as a bad guy with the media, but I don't think that the players really care about that. He had lots of defensive players through his career with Parcells, and none of them ever said a bad word about him.
Certainly he has taken a pretty ruthless business approach to his duties as HC of the NEP in dismiising guys who he feels he can do without regardless of their past performance, but players are only too happy to walk out on their teams and renegotiate their deals if they have the ammo, so I guess that's just the way it is.
As far as Ty goes, you know, I know and everyone knows that all that was going on there was that Ty wanted an extension, wasn't happy with the NE offer, and then was unhappy that they decided to let him play out his contract rather than trading him to a team where presumably he could have renegotiated, and Ty was just trying to make enough noise to get himself shipped out of time to accomodate the latter option. Once he realized that wasn't going to work, he shut up and played until he got hurt.
I actually think that the whole episode is a credit to BB and improved his credibility with players.
The message that NE has sent is that if you want to win, that is the place to play. But you have to have a reasonable contract demand, check your ego at the door, and there is not going to be any renegotiation or trades unless its in the best interests of the team.
The message that the Giants are sending is that you have an opportunity to play for the least player-friendly coach in the league who has already generated complaints from 3 of his star players, with a team that was in the bottom third of the league last year and is starting a second-year QB. I would be kind of surprised if the Giants have success landing any big-name free agents (which historically they have never done anyway). The Giants will just have to build through the draft and maybe some mid-level free agent acquisitions.
On the other hand, if you do that well, you can win a couple of Superbowls. :)

Lawmanfan,
I would hope the Giants imitate the Pats plan, and become just 2/3 as successful as they have been.
Further proof of that is the rumblings that this will be Accorsi's last year as GM. And there is a guy out there, who you may have heard of, who has his eye on the job -- Scott Pioli. :P :D
BTW, if I cannot be direct and assertive when I am arguing my case against an attorney, then when the heck can I be? If anything, I am sure you would appreciate that. :P

AR, you are one of the best debaters on the board when you choose to become involved in a topic. I just don't like having to exert myself to try to stay even with you.
But you still can't have Pioli. :P

Let me put this in an equation:
Bill Parcells son-in-law + declining the Seattle GM job + growing up a Giants fan + eager to return home + soon to be vacant GM job = Scott Pioli as the next Giants GM. 8) :D

The answer is still no.
Great ownership + top notch coach + first class facilities + good working relationship with coach + salary + multiple championships = staying put in NE.

Course... if they were asking Lawmanfan, he probably wouldn't have allowed Crennel or Weis to leave, either.
