Yes, this team has a lot of questions and unknowns
But I believe in CMA and trust that he and his staff will get the most out of them
I know I must be crazy, but I think we will make a run at an NIT berth this season

Providence made the NIT last year at 7-11, 18-15, Butler at 7-11, 16-16. That's probably where one or two of Depaul, STJ or Butler will likely end up. If the rest of the conference is as strong as it looks, and Providence stays in the top tier and doesn't join these three in the bottom The BE could send 7 to the dance and 1 or 2 to the NIT. You never know. Last year every team but 1 made the dance or the NIT. Being a bubble team for the NIT is probably the ceiling for this team but it's definitely doable

Seems to me last year's performance made it abundantly clear that in college basketball the individual talent on the roster is not as big a determinant of success as is a coherent and workable scheme and effective coaching and in-game management, all of which were sorely lacking last year. Of course having all of the above as the UK's, KU's and Dukes of the world do is even better but for teams that collect 3 and 4 star recruits it's the scheme and the coaching that make the team (see John Beilein). With that in mind I expect SJU to have more success this year than is being predicted. True CMA has to teach an entirely new (and unique) scheme to an entire team, and there's very little hi-major college game experience on the team so I expect there to be some very shaky performances early on. But based on CMA's track record, his organized and aggressive practices, and his well worked out scheme that he has implemented in new programs several times already I expect the team to get better and better at running CMA's scheme as the year goes on and I expect his scheme and the increasing fitness and comfort level of the team to give some BE teams fits and to result in some successful ambushes later in the season. 6 or 7 BE wins would not surprise me.
