I wasn't aware that those four played together. Sounds like one of the greatest NYC high school teams.

May be a little off topic but NBA TV had Game 2 of 1991 Warriors vs Lakers Series. Mullin had a huge game putting up 41 points in a one point win. Magic had 44 pts in the loss. Lakers won the series 4-1. Mullin was tremendous in that game.

Would be interesting to rank them for their college careers separately from their pro careers. My ranking would be: College
Pearl, smith, Jackson
Pro
Jackson, Smith, Pearl

Agree with rankings

Yes it was one of the greatest, if not the greatest. Coach was Stan Diner I believe.

Was there a year at Boys High when Connie Hawkins, Billy Burwell of Illinois, and Tommy Davis of the LA Dodgers all played together?

Tommy Davis graduated in either 56 or 57 and Hawkins in 60. I am almost positive that they were not members of the same team.

The game I would most like to rematch is the 1980 StJohns v/ Syracuse game which was played at Alumni Hall.

In the final seconds of the game with StJ's up by one point Louis Orr crashed into a clearly fixed Reggie Carter only to have Referee upstate NY resident Froggy Papparo turn a blind eye with SU winning the game.

That was the first college game I have a clear memory of attending and the garden was electric. I'd love to see it again because it's been so long and would love the opportunity to see those long ago Johnnie greats one more time.
A close 2nd would be the overtime game we lost to Duke in the Garden in Fran's last year(believe Artest was a frosh). I did get to see that one again last year and it was great as I remembered it.

Agree, I was at that game also. It was my freshman year and cemented my life long rooting for SJU.

Is there a video of that game that is availanle?
